This app is easy to use and has a nice interface. It would be great if the charts could be viewed full screen instead of in just the small window on the right. Also, I wish there was a way to automatically sync songs with the iphone app. Aside from that, I love it!

This app is amazing! I use it all the time to practice. Too bad about the copyright issues but luckily all the old songs and even more can be found in the forums with a couple of clicks. Love the new loop function.

The app delivers on its promise, it sounds great and is very easy to use. I would love, though, to be able to divide the screen real estate differantly, the chart is a bit too small for my taste and the middle section is way too big for what it does. With that in mind, it is still a very nice and extremely useful application.

This is one of the most usefull apps out there. If you get it on you ipad you can easily take it on gigs and put on a stand to have an huge library of realbooks. Great replacement for a realbook since most know that those are bulky and after time will break down. One of the best features is the play along, great to practice tunes or simply enjoy a solo jam. The other great feature is being able to transpose tunes in 1 second (specially good when playing with vocalists). I would say that the only feature that it is missing is having the actual notes in the music, however, seems difficult to do with all the copyright issues. Hopefully they will collab with other people to have no problem showing the actual notes.

All you do is download the free 1200+ jazz standards set from the forum, and youre ready to go with a jazz play-a-long encyclopedia. Very user friendly.

This is a no brainer if you are familar with band in a box this cost a fraction of the cost and do a lot of stuff to begin the knowledge process for a musician.

i am studying jazz guitar with berklee and this app is perfect for working through the nuances of the many chords and scales we are studying. its mind blowing what you get for $20. i also use a looper pedal for practicing, but its nice to have the rhythm section instead of just chord comping behind me. if the piano track gets monotonous i can just pull down the volume on that part and keep going with just bass and drums... paint the chords with the melody ala bird. im very grateful for this app. thank you, and keep up the good work!

This app is the reason I just preordered an iPad 3. A fantastic practice tool and very convenient at jam sessions. Im so grateful to the developer for his great work!

I have only played with it for a couple minutes and already fell in love with it. Great for any musician who wants to improv! I cant wait to use it with my students.

Good god man - just buy it already. band in a can sound, but for functionality, iReal b just cannot be beat. Theyre making steady improvements, too. Being able to play from any bar - and looping - is HUGE. Great app - I have it on my iPod/iPhone as well. Well worth the additional purchase.

I never write reviews. This program is amazing! Download all the extra tunes from the forum (incredibly easy) ! Amazing program ! One suggestion I would make, add the iCloud so the iPhone / iPad/ Mac could all sync tunes and changes over iCloud. Cheers

This is the best app for practicing improv. I own BB and have used it for years. Since downloading iReal b I only use IReal Book to practice solo and basslines. I really like how I can change the key of a piece or use the eq to take out the bass or some other part. This is one of the most well written and stable apps available. I dont write reviews I really enjoy the app. Thanks for this app.

Great, great stuff. Now the screen is as large as you want it AND you can get guitar chords diagrams! I had been wanting this for so long and now it is here - learned the chords for a new standard in no time just now. Only one thing would make it better - scales for guitar in tablature make it just perfect, but that is dreaming - it still gets 5 stars from me as is. Thanks a lot for spending the time to improve this app! (previous review below) I like this app a lot. I agree with the other reviewer who said the music section of the screen should be larger. Would really be nice to have that part be the full window at a click so the screen could be used as a book more effectively at a distance while playing piano. Small change and it will be perfect.

This app is the best thing on my phone (& iPad & Mac).. Im a professional musician and I use this for teaching (Portland State University), gigging and especially for practicing at home. Phenomenal stuff. It couldnt be more solid and useful for musicians of any caliber.

Great program - Its a shame it doesnt work with Avid Core Audio for the Pro Tools HD hardware...

I just purchased this app as a practice tool. It blows away BIB, it only took 5 minutes of use before I deleted BIB off my computer. I always hated that program, but never found anything similar. This is much easier to use, the tunes are all available. The only thing I would like to see would be some options to custom tailor the arrangements so that there is a rit. at the end of a piece or so that the accompaniment varies a little more. I would also be willing to pay more if there was a way to beef up some of the sounds so that I can use this app as a backing track on a solo gig. It can be done, but right now, the sounds are still a little thin and hokey for my taste. Otherwise, definitely worth the $20! Easy to use and great practice tool.

This app has already made a me better player after just a couple weeks. I am able to write short chord progressions and work on playing over the changes at my own pace. I cant stress enough how this app has changed my approach to practice. I have been playing for 25 years and since I got this app I have been able to conquor things that I could not with Aebersold CDs. At the price of ONE guitar lesson, its a no brainer. Buy this app!!!!!

Hey, great app overall. Can you add min7#5 to the available chord qualities. I find that it cant adequately be replaced by the closest equivalents (minor b6 or a slash chord, for example: Gsus/E). Thanks!!

I have been looking for good charting program for over 20 years. I was blown away to find it (first) on an iPhone. It was cool enough to have that available on an iPhone, and later (even better) an iPad, but the fact is, for charting and managing your charts, this is simply the best app I have ever seen. I show this to every musician I play with (and some that I dont.) They are all blown away, and most get it pretty quickly. One musician I showed it to (a teacher) told me a story about how he was sitting in with a jazz group, when someone in the audience had a request for something they didnt know. They all pulled out their phones, and off they went. This teacher now highlights iRealB in the resources section of the handout he provides to his students. The developer is responsive (I sent an email a few years back and got an immediate response - but dont hold him to that now - he is probably MUCH busier these days.) He is obviously a craftsman who takes great pride in this product, as he should. And no, I am not a family friend - I dont know him. I am a longtime software developer myself (thats my day job,) and I really appreciate a well crafted software program like this one. I wouldnt want to be without it. Outstanding. Ten stars.
